To get to Ranong we took a taxi from Surathani: an Israeli boy and a Chinese girl had to make our own way, so we split the cost of 3,000 baht for four and it took us only 3 hours. I'm over in the seat of the trunk in the middle of the pack ... but I must say that the journey was comfortable.
Hotel in Ranong was terribbile ... all the walls were chipped, stained sheets and a bathroom fit for a horror movie! Never go to "Spa inn!
After an almost sleepless night we tried to tell the boy of the hotel, which of course only spoke Thai, we had to go to the port ... but to no avail! We had to go into the street and try to stop whatever means that seems to be a taxi, luckily we found a very kind man who accompanied us to the port. The harbor was filled with algae un'odore terrible .... we looked around and we went into a house with a sign "breakfast". The lady brought us a jar of jam almost finished, inside an ant colony ... and we pointed out when I sent the husband to the village to buy a jar again:-D They were really so many years that did not happen in a place like a virgin to tourism!
From the port of Ranong Koh Phayam there are two types of boats: A big boat for 150 baht that it takes about two hours, or 350 baht from a speed boat that takes 40 minutes.
from seeing the big boat, so as to charge hard to stay afloat, I understand he made the right choice.
arrived at the port of Koh Phayam, the only means of transport are taxi-scooters .... something almost impossible for those traveling with more than one bag ... Fortunately, we travel light!
Our resort is on the beach and AOW Yai called "Bamboo bungalows. The bungalows are in the midst of lush vegetation.
The sea has some good waves and there's a lot of people trying to surf. Andrea went on patrol and says that the water is low, so maybe tomorrow I also try to play with the waves ... maybe with one of those tablets for children :-)
