Hanoi. There are many people who gathered in the capital of Vietnam to get to know the fate of the mythical giant turtle living in Hoan Kiem lake waters. Always considered a source of great fortune, the soft shell turtle from the species Tracheys scripta elegans has an age whose estimate is around 300 years.
The animal is the last survivor of its species nell'Hoan Kiem and is probably one of the last four living in the world.
According to local media it seems that the turtle was injured by hooks of fishermen and small turtles of Florida that have appeared in the lake a few years. The animal appears to have been taken on a small island in the lake where veterinarians are taking care of him.
According to legend, Emperor Le Loi was dismissed in the 15th century the Chinese invasion thanks to a magic sword given to him by a being with the shape of a turtle. Hence the name of the lake and good fortune that accompanies the turtle.
